Grow NJ Kids

We are currently enrolled in the GNJK process & we look forward to all the wonderful opportunities this new endeavor will bring to our center, the community, our staff and most importantly the families we serve.
"Grow NJ Kids is a state-sponsored initiative to raise the quality of childcare and early learning throughout New Jersey. Grow NJ Kids gives childcare and early learning programs resources to assess and improve their programs, while providing parents with information that allows them to evaluate the quality of programs and make the best choices for their child. The goal is to create a system that encourages ongoing improvement. Grow NJ Kids is part of a national effort. More than 40 other states are at some stage of launching their effort to improve quality. All types of programs can participate in Grow NJ Kids – a childcare center, a school- or center-based preschool program, a Head Start program, as well as a registered family childcare provider, who cares for children in his/her home."

Parent Involvement

The staff welcomes active involvement from parents. Parents may volunteer to chaperone field trips and events, participate in special classroom celebrations, assist during lunch time and help with fundraising events. Additionally, parents are invited to share their time and talent to help enrich our classrooms!

Staff Credentials

The staff at Little Friends School is comprised of highly qualified teachers and faculty with years of professional knowledge, training and experience. The teachers are certified in their respective fields. Staff members participate in workshops and conferences including those sponsored by the New Jersey Association of Young Children to continually advance their professional development. All our staff are required to submit to a CARI background check and fingerprinting. All staff members routinely have physical examinations maintained on file at the school as well as tuberculin tests.

Communication

Teacher conferences are scheduled throughout the year and we are always available to discuss the progress of your child. A monthly newsletter is also distributed to inform parents of daily activities, upcoming events and important reminders. Please refer to the Little Friends for updates, program information and inclement weather closings. Communication folders go to and from school daily. Please make sure to check folders daily so that important information is not missed. Any new updates will be posted on the communication bulletin board in the main building.
